Sir Morder

does anyone remember the old days of UO when they'd put a patch thru and you'd just hit cancel and keep playing? LOL thats what i used to do anyways :) I figured after about 10 patches i would finally let em all go through and keep playin. *remembers the good ol' days* *grabs another beer*

I remember !

And even if ya did let a patch patch, if it somehow failed to patch, we still got INTO playing UO,
not prohibited from playing entirely. Usually ya got that patch and the later one both together, later on, and you would be a-ok all caught up. I can even remember once upon a time, some lost lands patch did not work right for me, and while everyone else was seeing the new ostards, I was stuck seeing them as llamas or something till next patch that made prior one and new patch work together.

BUT I WAS ABLE TO STILL GET INTO THE GAME even if a patch failed ages ago once upon a time, we were 'not' locked out of playing ! Twas more like we could patch when we were more in the mood to do so, not when they shoved patches down our throats, locking us out of playing UO, entirely.

Sooo here I am, just tried to log into UO this morning but I am singing an old song *again*
as the dorky thing atm simply reads 0% Bioware Patcher,

Hey MYTHIC....
ALL YA ARE IS JUST ANOTHER, BRICK IN THE WALL..

Mythic bioware patcher of mega sized patches from hell,
While we all want updated stuffs, lately it is more like patch after patch huge size ones ,
larger barricades put up, bi monthly, keeping us OUT of UO again, till patches patch again.

Bleh ! :

Just cancel the patch - and load client.exe (can not use uoassist).
This will work well until the big demand on the patch server is over (or for those of you on dial up!)

BEER ?  Hand your friendly local Leprechaun a BEER .
We love BEER !

I don't know why ...But it seems if I start the patch let it run for a little, then cancel , wait a few then re-log that the patching goes Much faster.
Like I say I don't know why ... But it does work for me.

BEER , please... ..just for sharing this info with you.

The forum titles are based on your post count..., not your UO title

I was referring to the part about Gilfane Postulant.

It patched to read 41% then read patch error and died.

I am losing patience with Mythic and their &&$%%& mega patches !

Thus, I still can not play UO, yet.
