Custom carpet pieces in house packing crates

I recently had a problem with custom carpet pieces that ended up in my house packing crate.  Either (a) I opened the crate and my client crashed or (b) I opened the crate and could see the carpet pieces, but when I tried to move them it told me that I could not "pick them up."   

Well, this morning I realized what the problem was - the carpet squares were actually *locked down* in the crate!  Which is why it would not let me take them out.  When I double clicked them, they still looked the same, but I was able to then move them.  And no, no one at EA told me this although I had called a GM and filed a report on it.  I just happened to think about trying it this morning.

I share it here, just in case this ever happens to anyone else.  And I will follow up on the EA incident report.
