anyone ever try a freeshard?

i have been trying out the hybrid freeshard for a little while now and it has ea beat hands down imo. its got a siege like ruleset as far as the all fel no tram thing goes. theres no malas and no tokuno but alot of the creatures spawn in t2a as far as i know. only takes a few days to get a character trained there and no skills above GM. heres the kicker, for years ive been complaining that all the ea gang ever do is add new items to the game in the form of arties and deco instead of fixing things previous tweaks have messed up. there are no arties on hybrid, no powerscrolls, stealth works like it did in the old days. you can still take heads a feature i loved back in the day. the economy is way better, a mil on a prodo server is $1 its $5 on siege but hybrid it goes for $25.i logged in at 11 pm on christmas day and there were 1100 people online. ive never seen it go below about 650. what it has done is take some elements like being able to use different metals and leathers and the like to craft with and added them to basically a pre pub. 16 shard. it seems like theyve taken some of the better aspects of the game and put them in "your dads uo" and chucked the rest. for anyone interested its easy to connect to, you just download razer and under server you put login.uogamers.com and under port you put 2593. i know gil is a ea siege specific guild but the reasons i came to siege i believe are all gone now and i would suggest you all give her a try. you could come over as a group and really make an impact. imagine a world where you page a gm and he is there within minutes and hybrid is that world. best of all its free.....

lol, i would if the base wasnt so nerfed atm. i got on when the new patch came out a while back and you couldnt cast fields in there then i earthquaked only to get guardwhacked.

I have played on that shard for a year before I came here.. It is a lot like siege but highly populated.The reason I left is the unbelievable amount of cheaters and hackers.   I do have a lot of friends there, but a freeshard tends to have some of the worst people  (scammers, beggars, and people that just want to follow you around town swearing at you).  I do think as freeshards go that one has the best ruleset but, it is a much friendlier and mature atmosphere here on Siege.

yea i tried a prodo shard out for a bit, but people kept walking through my bagballs like they werent there. some kind of client mod im pretty sure. i wouldnt mind coming back to play on siege but theres a huge imbalance in guilds now. if your not in one of 3-4 guilds its almost impossible to survive. still im thinking its the best ruleset on ea servers out there. i kept my main account cali, and ill be back to steal some sigils again when they put my base back the way they found it. as it is- its absolutely useless to even try to defend it, especially alone theres no way to slow down attackers without being able to cast any defensive spells or trap it. i actually figured someone would fix it as its the only tb base on any shard like that but i guess theres not enough factioneers on siege anymore to warrant the dev's doing their jobs. i think im mainly just tired of spending tons of my hard earned cash to pay the salaries of people that care very little about weather the product their selling me actually functions the way its supposed to. factions are about all i do anymore in this game and have been for years, but there has been a steady trend of the powers that be ignoring broken aspects of them for about 4 years now. they just got around to fixing several things this year that have been known to be malfunctioning 2 years or more and half the time the fix is worse than the problem was. im just really hating on ea right now because i feel like theyve stolen from me something i have quite a bit of myself invested in. im almost positive there will be something they dont fix back right when all this is over which will nerf my gameplay for years to come and it makes me want to hold them under water for a few minutes, or until i feel better.
