As expected, the patrol ended pretty much before it began. For those complaining about Gilfane for leaving as soon as Virem/Arnold showed up, let me be clear that this is EXACTLY what we said we would be doing. This event will only work if all parties agree not to loot and participants can get straight back into battle. If looting occurs, some will be reluctant to take part and others have only one or two spare suits at most. Furthermore, the sides are rarely evenly balanced, particularly at the start, and we often see a domino effect of one group being taken completely out the battle for a a while. If there was widespread looting it would be very difficult for that group to launch a comeback and it would take a considerable time to do so anyway. And remember, the looting rule only applies to this set event; what people do outside of it is their own business.

Last Saturday, Virem and Arnold made it quite clear that they do not respect the no looting rule, which they were well aware of. During the week they were asked again if they would do so but refused to agree to it. On top of that, screenshots posted on Stratics clearly showed what everyone who fights them already knew, namely that they employ cheats. To my dismay, the guild leader of B^A refused to take any action against them regarding the cheating or their interfering in a successful event, apparently because there are no rules or standards whatsoever within the guild. We did give consideration to fighting back earlier in the week but in the end decided against it. For one we do not enjoy fighting such people with all their hacks and scripts. And secondly because they remain guildmates of arguably two of the three most dangerous PvPers on the shard, people we have enough trouble dealing with on their own. Had they been isolated then our decision would probably have been different, but they are not. So it was that we made it clear in the days before that we would not be fighting them.

And so an event that has been so good for the shard lies in tatters. But don't blame us, blame a couple of punks from Atlantic who do not have the decency to observe the protocol at a community event, are prepared to bring scorn and derision on their other guildmates just for their own "lols" and bloated egos, a guild which refuses to have any standards of any kind, and a population which, yet again, won't all come together for the common good.

Victim

No blame from me Hoffs, I respect your decision and understand the position.
