Pet problems

We have now had at least two people who have lost pets at server-up. It seems that the pets have been out of the stable at server-up and upon logging in the pet has vanished. One member has lost three pets this way it seems. In addition, other people have reported pets which were stabled have been with the character upon the next log-in.

Clearly there is some kind of problem with the server not saving things correctly. Until there is a fix, I recommend that everyone stables their pets at least ten minutes before server-down and that anyone who has experienced such a problem sends in a bug report.

Has this person been told not to repeat the mistake? If not, might be a good idea...

And also, has anyone who´s lost a pet, had it linked to a petball and tried to recover the pet that way?

I had this happen with Albino. My 5xGM White Cu. Played late into the night. Then I got the server message. I was like...wow sherry is gonna be mad. So I went to bed for a few hours. Logged back in at maybe 10am (server down is 4am for me). He didnt show up. I checked my control slots 0/5 it said. I was pissed. Logged out. After a few mins of doing some things around the house, I figured maybe the server made it go wild or something. As I have heard that they dont always log out with you. I logged back in after about 10 mins since last login. And pop there he was. Checked slots to see if some bug happened. 4/5. I dont know. So if anyone loses a pet, maybe try logging a few times to see.

But dont leave it too long, as the pet loses loyalty if it doesnt log with you, and will go wild. When I got my CU back it was rather unhappy.

i cant say that there arent any bugs with pets logging. all i can say is if you don't voluntarily log out, your pet will not auto log. which means, when the servers go down, you're not logging out as you may think. you must hit the log out tab and log out for your pet to auto log. i've seen many tamers lose pets when training over nite. they never logged out and when the server goes down the pet either goes wild or just gets erased. as far as losing pets while they are in the stable, i've had this happen twice. each time i had to page a gm and has pet "bounced" back into the stables. i'm not sure how this happens, but each time the gm was able to see that the pet was in the stable but it just wasn't showing that it was there. buggy things like this happen. when i log my mage in, it says every time "a war horse" even though i dont have any war horse outta the stables. maybe some bug when i had her in factions and stabled a faction war horse and now she's outta factions perhaps the stables are confused.
My advice, log out before server down. Keep a pet ball for each pet. If you lose a pet be patient and wait for a gm.
