Ok new PC, Windows 8 (grrrrrr)!
In settings I have my mouse configured correctly (for example I have the number 7 on my small thumb key and if I press it in UO cartographer I see 7s comming up in server selection, when I press it)
But in UO it does not work....
Does not matter if I run the game in admin mode or not!
Anyone any ideas?
What type of mouse are you using? I'm using a Logitech cordless mouse with a trackball on Windows 8 and have had no problems whatsoever. But I did download the Windows 8 driver for the Logitech mouse and keyboard that I own. If you've not done that, try that and see if that helps. Ultimately, with any problem I've had with Windows 8, it's turned out that it needed a new driver, and once I've updated said driver, everything has been fine.
Oh - and sometimes I was able to get the updated drivers I needed from Dell, other times I had to go to the manufacturer of whatever it was that needed the driver. I think with Logitech I went straight to them and found the driver I needed.

Microsift Intell wireles Explorer 2.0 and I have the most recent driver installed. As I said under windows and other programs the mouse behaves as it should....just not UO classic :(

Sounds like Microsoft is trying to side with EA Games and get everyone to switch to the Enhanced Client. :P
Did you happen to try the EC of UO to see if it operates in that client correctly?
Working on that now: 2 gigabytes download takes in my region about 5-6 days....so I am out for a while!

Just think, if that new system had windows 7 instead of windows 8 it would probably be working right now.
I am sure you looked at this but if not.
Are you sure you don't already have the keys mapped in uoassist or uo macros or your keyboard etc?
If you are using a program to map the keys did you give it the right permissions etc

Sorry mate I do not quiet understand what you mean?!
The situation is this: I have on the small thumb button keystroke "7". So when I press the 7 ingame it plays the macro I assigned to it in UO assist (use healing stone). But right now, in game I can press the 7 and it plays the macro, I press the small thumb button, nothing happens. It has to do with the microsoft mouse drivers: I read up on it and I have to run the programes not in Admin mode if I wanna use the mouse buttons.....but in Windows 8 I cannot run UO NOT in Admin mode....any ideas?
