Thanks everyone for all the help getting me this far.. :)  I have FINALLY made up my mind what I want to do here.. I will from this time forward be working towards a mage with fencing.. and tips or advice is greatly appreciated.. I will now be deciding between a true tanking mage, and a stealth mage with fencing.. any ideas (pros or cons) for either template is greatly appreciated.

The only bad thing about a tank mage is the cost to equip. If you not running with a 3/1 ring and a 3/1 bracelet your not at your casting cap. 

What alot of people do is bless a good ring or braclet then run with "throwaway" wepons.
