It seems to me like the worst you are guilty of is believing that you could persuade a friend to do the right thing, and giving him some cover while he thought it over. I would not advocate booting someone from the guild for trying to help a friend make amends.
You did not scam, or participate in the scam. It isn't your fault Roland did what he did, and it isn't your fault that Roland wouldn't make things right.

Joking about something is not the same thing as doing it. Sure you gave Roland the idea and he did it without using his head but that was or your fail.
I believe Roland first found it cool to scam Diablo to teach him a leason, then he become greedy and could not give back the 15 mills to make thing right.
You tryed to make him do the right thing, not your fail he become greedy.
To Roland, karma will get you someday, someday you will end up losing more than this 15 mills or maybe something that mean more to you. You can't run from your karma and it will follow you to RL too.

I appreciate the public confession and it was the right thing to do, but any discussions involving guild actions against members should be kept in the private area.
Yes karma has effected me in RL as well. Recently i have foudn a better paying job with more hours. After two weeks there i got a promotion and a raise.
