I think I remember something about an issue with converting houses into the Customized House Plots. Does anybody know if this is, or ever was, an issue still or has it been fixed ? I'd like to try converting my Tower into a customizable plot, but don't want to end house losing anything if there are problems with this still...
It's really unclear what size plot you will get in exchange for the tower. For the other types of houses, you get the same footprint and storage equivalent when you convert to customizable plot. The wording says this will happen for everything except "towers" probably due to the overhanging wings. So, while you could convert, I'm not sure what the end result will be in terms of the size of the plot. That being said, if something does go wrong, there are a couple of plots in Gilfane that are available from their original owners. Gideon Bell has offered his plot to anyone in Gilfane who wants it and Razz is deactiving a couple of accounts and I think the "cave" plot and also the double 18x18 plots are available to someone who wants them.
Maybe try it on test center first? I am not sure how this works and only recently discovered the test center.

There was a tower on Cats that I replaced with a 16x14 in the same spot. Wings dont count.
