Title: Moving On
Post by: Hooder on November 17, 2008, 04:20:20 AM
I wanted to say thank you to everyone in Gilfane that I have had the pleasure to have as guildmates for the last 10 months. I have decided that it is time for me to go it alone for a while and have resigned my chars (Hooder, Terra Haxxor, Sapper and Najia) from the guild. I do not leave on bad terms or with any bitterness, infact i look forward to hunting with some of you in the future. I wont go into my reasons for leaving as i have already discussed them with Hoffs.

I wish to thank Hoffs for showing me many things here on seige. Kael, Cali , Mystikal, Hungry Cheetah and Shipwreck for the fun hunts. I hope you will hit me up on icq to go spawning sometime.

That being said i have a house in gilfane that i have leveled and would like to donate it to Ship or Cheetah which ever of you doesnt have one.

Till we meet again

Well that sucks...was just getting to know you..... :-\

Can't says I know details...rarely do I want to, but as a person who sometimes changes guilds as much as he changes underware for whatever reason....good luck out there, and come back soon.

I'm very sorry to see you go Hooder. I have no idea what the circumstances are but could I suggest simply turning off guild chat and the tag for a week or so, just to see if you still feel the same if this is something that can be reconsidered?

Hooder,

I'm sorry to see you go.  Wish you had brought your concerns to the forefront before you left.

No sympathy here bro.  You don't quit your friends because no one crosshealed you.  Or you died to pk's.  If I was like that I would have left to another pvp guild along time ago. You stay and help your friends. teach them to be better. Not quit and run off to another guild.

Bullshit in my book.

QFT

I have fought many times alone and in groups, cross-heals are a blessing but they dont always come. Its too easy to complain and quit a guild. It takes a real man to stay and promote change.

First off I do not believe I complained to either of you about anything, second I have no intention of joining any other guild at this time, third if I wanted to discuss my reasons for leaving in an open formum i would have posted them here instead of PMing Hoffs. I simply need sometime to myself. It is my own reaction to things like cross healing and dying that makes me take a break. I t used to never bother me. I dont know if it is just because of the lag combined with my shitty dialup connection combined with my RL stress that makes me so upset lately but I am not really that much fun to be around. I dont want to end up with the King Ed rap because I lose my temper, thats just not me. So rather than let that happen and possibly drive off some newer chars ( Honey told me she was crying the other night because she was so frustrated) I felt it was time to take a break from the guild. Good enough answer?

Time off or your own frustration is one thing. To blame the guild as a whole for your problems is a whole different story.  I like you bro, I do. Just try not to blame your own issues on newer members. So of them take it personal.

Absolutely a better answer and makes much more sense.

P.S. You posted in the public forum, you could have posted in the private one...

i cant post in the private forum anymore. the fact that I was blaming others for my own reactions was exactly the reasons i need a break. :)

I like the sound of a break more than moving on :)

I hate to see anyone go, thats for sure. Sometimes it might be difficult to seperate rl stuff from in-game stuff. A break is prolly what is best. You'll be back, im sure (i hope). Gud luk out there.

On a side note: To anyone that is new or newer to siege, remember, totally felucca here. I like to always assume a fight is goin to happen. Dying is a way of life on siege (thats sounds weird but it's true). Get used to it or playing here can get really frustrating. Losing items that are GM quality is definitely nothing to get upset about. If you like to run around in gear that may cost millions to replace, well thats another story.

My apologies sir, your reasoning is valid. I took it the wrong way.

I wish you the best Hooder.
I don't get to play as much as I would like to lately but when I did get out on those champ hunts I had a great time. I found you to be a very team spirited player on those occasions and was very appreciative of how patient you were with some of us who are a bit slow and inexperienced.

Dunno if that was addressed to me.   I will reply though.  I was never frustrated about dying or about losing any gear.  I was frustrated because I could not get in vent!  That has been remedied now, and I am a very happy camper.  As you know, vent is a necessity in any pvp situation.    I have been using it four years now.    It was very frustrating to be in a pvp situation and not be in vent.  I had no idea what the plan was, or what was going on.
